Year 2 got a new type of pack, Story Packs, so Year 3 will probably also get a new packs. Here are what I think the new pack would be:
- Tri Pack: I know what a Lego Dimensions Tri makes you think of, and I don't mean that. I mean a pack that comes with 3 characters. I feel like if they add We Bare Bears to Lego Dimensions, they wil probably do this.
- Battle Pack: This could perhaps be a pack that comes with a character, that when on the toy pad, can be battled as a boss battle. This will be slightly like a Level Pack. Once you beat the character, you will be able to play as them normally. Much like Wyldstyle, Ghandalf, and (I think) the Poly Bag characters, they won't have a vehicle.
- Vehicle Packs: These will be a pack with only a Vehicle (or two), and no character. These vehicle tags will have set toy tags (instead of empty ones that get stuff written on), so when you place the toy tag on, you get the instructions in game.
- Ability Packs: If these exist, Year 3 toy tags will have bottoms that allow Add-Ons to get put below. Ability Packs are tags that have a certain ability, such as Silver Lego Blowup, so you can put them below a character, giving them that ability. I feel like a flaw of this is it would make you only want characters based on franchises, instead of both franchises and abilities. They will also take away the fun of trying to find that character with that one ability
