You Had One Job! is a quest that can be found in the Portal 2 Adventure World given by Wheatley.
Dialogue[]
Start of the Quest[]
"Oh! Hi there. Um, spot of luck you came by. I've actually been in here literally for hours, trying to get these boxes to walk onto their assigned buttons... and they're not getting it. Um, I dunno why, maybe it's me... y'know, maybe my teaching methods are just too... theoretical.
Um, trouble is, it's very hard to have a hands-on approach... when you don't have hands. Y'know, it's my fault. I hold my hands up... well, I don't, 'cause I don't have any, but y'know, you take my point. Anyway, would you just, you know, just give them a nudge in the right direction? be a friend? High five! No, I can't. I can't do that." - Wheatley upon approaching him.
End of the Quest[]
"Oh yeah, that's the ticket, that's the ticket! I thought the test would just be an easy way to get my test solving fix, see? but I forgot how useless these boxes are at performing simple commands, but YOU... you're like some kind of button-walking-on wizard, mate. Seriously, where do you learn that stuff?
What is it? Textbooks? Is it, is it, um, online courses? Um, I mean, do you have go to some kind of, y'know, retreat, where you wears robes and things? And there's some chap with long hair and a guitar? Ah, listen to me, I'm rambling on, you've probably got a stack of buttons on your desk that need pressing. So I'll let you get back to it, but seriously, thanks for the help." - Wheatley upon finishing the quest.
Objective[]
Guide each of the three Frankenturrets created by Wheatley to a button to stand on.
Trivia[]
- The quest is actually based on a scene of Portal 2 in which Wheatley (in GLaDOS' body) created the Frankenturrets in order for them to walk on the buttons.
- The title comes from a line from the 2001 remake of the the 1960's Rat Pack heist film Ocean's Eleven that goes like this: "Oh leave it out! You tossers! You had one job to do!"
